About Sunrise
Family-run and focused on doing quality work, respectfully
John Williams began Sunrise Excavating and Paving in 1978 with a backhoe, a dump truck and a desire to be the company that people called for their backhoe or excavation needs. One year later he incorporated the company, hired a couple of people to help him out and has slowly built the company into a 30-employee, family-centered paving contractor that proudly serves Redding, Red Bluff, Anderson, Cottonwood and Mt. Shasta.
No job too big or too small
The average job that Sunrise Excavating and Paving takes care of runs for several months and weighs in around $500,000, but the company has handled jobs of much longer duration and scope. One of Sunrise Excavating and Paving's current jobs involves the completion of a site in Red Bluff. On just this one job, the company has moved over 14,000 cubic yards of earth and installed several thousand feet of underground utilities. All of that in just six months. The job will conclude with 28,000 square feet of asphalt paving. So as you can see, large or small, Sunrise Excavating and Paving has it covered.
Second generation management
John has begun to pass the reigns on to his children. He is proud of how they have taken the bull by the horns and begun the growth process to take the company into the future. The family-owned spirit is a big part of the success of the company. Our customers take comfort in the fact that a quarter-century of excellent customer service and contracting excellence will continue.
